Volley for the Cure 2012
September 12, 2012 Dear Parents,The New Athens High School Volleyball Team will once again be participating in Volley for the Cure on September 27, 2012. This year the games will be played at Marissa High School and start at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help FIGHT breast cancer. In honor of this event the team will be hosting a Volley for the Cure week during the week of September 24th-28th. They will be selling pink ribbons for $1, pink rings for $1, pink bracelets for $2, T-Shirts Sales $15, and many other items. In addition to all the pink merchandise being sold, here are the days of events: Face Painting will be offered each day before school and at lunch for $1.00. Monday, September 24th –Hat Day-Bring a $1 –Wear a hat all day!!Machetes Mexican Restaurant is donating $1 toward the Susan G.Komen Foundation for every dine-in customer that comes in wearing pink. Tuesday, September 25th – Past Volley for the Cure/Camp T-shirts Wednesday, September 26th – Spirit day!! *The Bullpen is hosting a New Athens Volley for the Cure Night donating 10% of all food sales to Susan G. Komen. Thursday, September 27th – Wear Pink- Game Day! * Marissa will be hosting a Wing Dinner Supper starting at 4:30 in their H.S. cafeteria and a donation will be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The price will be $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Each adult dinner will get 6 wings, a bowl of vegetables (celery,carrots,etc), a choice of homemade dessert and a drink . A childs plate will have 3 wings but still get veggies, dessert and drink. GAME STARTS AT 5:30 Friday, September 28th – Pink Carnations will be delivered during school for J.H. and H.S. |

We are doing boys/girls the same dates and times this year but in different gyms. There are two different forms attached. The deadline to turn them in is next Tuesday the 20th. The following announcement is in regards of HS and JH Fall sports tryout dates and times. HS Volleyball will start Aug 10 and go from 8-11am. JH Softball will have 6th grade only report Aug 1st and Aug 2nd from 5:30-8:00. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will start Aug 3rd from 5:30-8:00 Reminder that all sports physicals should be turned in before or on the day of each sports start date. |

Jr boys will still be going to Rend Lake tomorrow and all Jr High students that want to ride fan bus need to turn in permission slips and $2 tomorrow morning. Bus leaves @ 2PM. Jr High volleyball will determine make up dates ASAP. HS girls game vs. Steeleville is scheduled for Sat @ noon. Home game. HS girls game vs Valmeyer will be Feb 11 @ 5PM. HS Volleyball Purple & Gold Game
2010 H.S. Volleyball Team will be having a Purple/Gold Game. Tuesday, August 24th @ 6:00 p.m. The game will be played in the Junior High Gym. The Purple/Gold game will allow the community to see the volleyball team before our season gets underway. This event is open to the community and the door admission will be to bring can food or $1.00. All proceeds will be donated to the local Food Pantry. |
