New Athens District 60 celebrated Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 22nd. Various dress up days and activities were planned throughout the week. The 2nd and 3rd grade classes participated in a placemat decorating contest. The 4th and 5th grade classes participated in a bookmark decorating contest. The placemats will be used at Village Pizza and the bookmarks will be used at the town library. Winning entries were: (L-R) Kaylynn Hawkins (5th grade), Madi Stewart (4th Grade), Connor Strackeljahn (3rd grade), and Rachel Feder (2nd grade). Honorable mentions were (L-R back) Breanna Lanter (5th grade), Sean Osborned (5th grade-not pictured), Kamden Newman (4th grade), Lucas Gregson (3rd grade), Brooke Gunter (3rd grade), (L-R front) Samantha Kinsella (4th), Angela Carrigan (2nd grade), and Reese Duquette (2nd grade). |
