 Good luck to the volleyball team tonight at home against Woodlawn. It is Senior Night!

There is a junior class meeting right now in Mr. Gallaher's room.

Reminder: those students wishing to go to Washington, D.C., the last day to sign up is Friday, October 20th.

All FCA members meet in the cafeteria during Activity Period today for a few minutes

Anyone interested in going on the Rome and Greece trip in two years need to attend a mandatory meeting next Wednesday, October 25 at 7:00 in the library.  Note that the meeting date has been changed from the 18th to the 25th.  If you cannot attend the meeting but are still interested in the trip see Mrs.Thoma immediately.  

Congratulations to Bailey Lance for receiving 1st place and Faith Middendorf for receiving 4th place in the varsity division and to Katie Dietrich for receiving 3rd place and Zoey Smith for receiving 6th place in the JV division at the FFA Job Interview Contest at Red Bud last night.  Bailey and Katie will advance to the district competition in Carbondale.


Next Monday will be the start of Red Ribbon Week.  Wear Red on Monday to show your support!


Waterloo Sportsman's Club Haunted Trail (4903 Sportsman’s Road Waterloo, IL)

 

o   Student and Parent volunteers needed to work the haunted trail – Dates: Oct 13th & 14th & 27th

o   Students will receive 4 drink tickets and 1 meal ticket to spend at the haunted trail

o   The theme is Zombie but anything scary is fine or you can just wear all black

o   The trail starts at 7pm

§  Arrive at the trail between 5:30-6pm to be ready by 6:45pm and the trail ends at 11pm. We would like to have about 10 kids and a couple chaperones each night

o    After Prom will receive $250 every night we work this event

Congratulations to the freshmen, JV and Varsity volleyball teams on their wins over Dupo last night. The girls play next on Thursday at home against Woodlawn. Thursday will also be Senior Night!

Student Council pizza orders are due on Wednesday!

Permission slips for the all school enrichment are due back today. Remember to bring your own lunch and drink for All School Enrichment on Friday.  Also, remember that you must be on the bus by 8:05 or you will be left behind!

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity volleyball teams on their wins over Marissa last night at the Volley for the Cure game. The girls play next on Thursday at home against Woodlawn. Thursday will also be Senior Night!

There will be a girls basketball meeting this morning during Homeroom in the gym. All girls interested in or planning on playing basketball need to attend.

Good luck to the volleyball team as they travel to Marissa tonight for the Volley for the Cure game. The freshmen match begins at 5:30.

The girl's CC team made school history as they won the first ever Conference Championship Saturday for either boys or girls in the sport.  Five girls earned All-Conference honors:  Alayna Toedte-1st, Jenna Alfeldt-2nd, Danika White-5th, and Madi Stewart-10th.  Britney Miller just missed all conference, finishing 11th.  The boys finished 4th out of 7 teams as Deric Maurer earned all conference honors by placing 6th.

Congratulations to Hannah Fisher, who qualified for the ILMEA Honor Band and as a result will be performing next month in Carbondale with the Honor Band.

A representative from Quincy College will be here today during NAIL. Please sign up in the office to meet with the representative.

All cheerleaders need to stop by Mrs. Dehler's room during Homeroom to pick up their order forms!

A representative from Quincy College will be here on Thursday during NAIL. Please sign up in the office to meet with the representative.

The CC team is scheduled to run in the Red Bud Invitational today at Ft. Chartres in Prairie Du Rocher. Runners should be dismissed at 2:15.

All high school PE classes will meet in the junior high gym this morning during testing.

Juniors will take the PSAT exam this morning, starting at 8:30 in the high school gym. Juniors after you get your lunch count taken care of, please come down to the gym.

The U.S. Army National Guard will be here during Lunch today.

There will be a representative here from MacMurray College tomorrow during NAIL, from SWIC on Wednesday during NAIL, and from Murray State on Thursday during NAIL. Please sign up in the office to meet with these representatives.

The Volley For the Cure game is now October 16th at Marissa.

The fall band concert is this evening at 7 PM in the junior high gym, come out and listen to some great music. Band students need to report to the band room during NAIL today.

The girls CC team finished 3rd at the Chester Invitational losing to Nashville and just 5 points behind Pinckneyville.  Individual medals were earned by Alayna Toedte-5th, Danika White-11th, Britney Miller-22nd, Madi Stewart-24th, and Jenna Alfeldt-27th.

The boy's team finished 8th out of 12 teams as Deric Maurer ran the course in the fastest time ever for a New Athens runner finishing 9th overall.  Owen Whitworth also earned an individual medal for placing 32nd.  Joel Mattingly and Devin Caswell also ran strong races.

Those students going bowling today need to report to the high school gym immediately after lunch count.

Student council will meet Tuesday morning during Homeroom.
