The village of New Athens is requesting volunteers to help with the 150th anniversary celebration next weekend. Please sign up in the office if you would like to help with the bounce house and carnival games.

The boy's CC team took 1st place in last night's Chester quad meet with Deric Maurer leading the way in 1st place.  He was followed closely by Joel Matttingly/2nd, Noel Ivester/4th, Chandler Hoffman/11th, and Owen Whitworth/12th.

The girls's lost a close match to Okawville.  Alayna Toedte ran a great race to finish 2nd.  She was followed by Emma File/6th, Jenna Alfeldt/7th, Cassie Crabtree/12th, and Stevi Price 13th.

The team runs at Nashville on Monday.

Good luck to the volleyball team as they compete at the Massac County Tournament tomorrow. They will be leaving at 1:45 today.

Any student interested in entering this year's Voice of Democracy Speech Contest should see Mrs. Hogg for details.  This year's theme is "My Responsibility to America."  Speech recordings will take place in early October.

On September 24th, the Zombie 5k will be held here in New Athens. If you would like to volunteer to dress up as a zombie and work the Fun Run and race, there will be a sign up sheet available in the office. If you have any questions about volunteering or the costumes and makeup needed, you can ask Bailey Lance, as she will be the one doing the volunteers' makeup the morning of the race.

 Juniors interested in taking the PSAT in October need to sign up in the office. The PSAT is the test designed to recognize National Merit and Illinois State Scholars. 

If you are interested in working haunted hayrides on the riverfront during weekends in October, or working at the boat ramps to take drag boats in and out of the river, see the office for more details.

Doughnut day is this Friday.  They will be on sale in the high school lobby for $1.

There is a FCA huddle meeting this Friday at 7:30 am in the HS gym.
Also,  there is a sign up sheet outside Coach Patton's office for anyone interested in attending FCA kickoff banquet at Busch Stadium on 9/25. Cost is $20. Deadline to sign up and pay Mrs. Dehler is 9/20.

Cross country should be dismissed at 2:30 today for their meet at Chester.

There will be a representative from Southeast Missouri State University here on September 29th during NAIL. Please sign up in the office to meet with her.
