The boy's cross country team ran well at the Sparta Invitational on Tuesday finishing 8th out of 15 teams.  Ethan Cockrell just missed a top 20 medal finishing 22nd.  Jon Alfeldt was 40th and Tyler Kimes was just 6 seconds behind in 45th. Dylan Toedte and Lucas Doiron rounded out the scoring in 50th and 56th. There were a total of 107 boys in the varsity race.  Sophomore, Theo Dudeck and Freshman, Joel Mattingly were the top runners for New Athens in the Open Race for non-varsity runners.

The girl's team finished 10th out of 14 teams despite missing one of their best runners, Alina Lance.  Alayna Toedte ran an outstanding race to earn a medal in the 20th position. She was followed by Laura Kreher in 45th, Jenna Alfeldt in 48th, Hannah Daab in 64th, Emma File in 67th, and Nikki Warnecke in 71st.  All of these girls ran under 25 minutes for the three mile course. There were a total of 103 girls in the varsity race.

The girl's CC team took first place in last night's Chester quad meet.  Alina Lance and Alayna Toedte tied with Alina given the 3rd position and Alayna 4th.  Jenna Alfeldt was 6th, Laura Kreher 7th and Hannah Daab 10th.  Kirsten Hollansworth also ran her best race of the season.  

The boys also ran a strong race finishing 3rd, just two points behind Chester.  Ethan Cockrell ran a great race to finish 3rd while Tyler Kimes ran the best race of his career to finish 8th.  Jon Alfeldt was 9th, Lucas Doiron 13th, and Dylan Toedte 15th.  Both teams run in the Nashville Invitational on Monday.

Fontbonne University will be here for a college visit on Monday, September 29 during Activity.

SIU Carbondale will be here for a college visit on Tuesday, September 30th. Sign up in the office to meet with both colleges.

Starting Monday, September 22 through Friday, September 26th there will be students in the High School Lobby taking food orders and Selling Carnation for Volley For The Cure Week.   These sales will ONLY take place during Homeroom.  If you are a teacher and would like to order, please see the following students sometime during the week to get your orders in.

Steamboat Orders:  Abby Marlow, Alina Lance, Georgia Park  (Mon. Sept. 29)

Bull Pen: Trinity Heintz and Pauly will help out when he can.  (Tues Sept. 30 and Wed. Oct. 1st)

Village Pizza: Laura Kreher and Abbie Menees    (Friday Oct. 3)

Coronation Sales:  Jordan, Denea, Aleen, Jaycie

The following will be the dates that the restaurants will be delivering the food.

Monday, September 29th= Steamboat will be delivering food to the school.

Tuesday, September  30th= Bull Pen - Juniors and Seniors/ Elementary and Junior High Teachers will have food delivered. 

Wednesday, Oct. 1st =  Bull Pen - Freshman and Sophomores/High School Teachers

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2ND- GAME DAY- Machetes will be donating a $1.00 for every DINE-IN order when anyone is wearing PINK.   Also before the game at Marissa.  The High School classes are having a soup cook off. 
Friday, Oct. 3rd = Village Pizza will be delivery orders and Carnations will be delivered during lunch.
