HS Announcements--April 6, 2011

Friday will be the last day to purchase after prom tickets.
There will be a meeting in the library for all Senior performing arts students during homeroom on Friday.

·         Seniors-The 2011 Ameren Illinois Minority Scholarship Program is offering scholarships to students with plans of majoring in an engineering field of study.  Details available in the guidance office.   Deadline: 4-8-11.

·         Juniors & Seniors- Searching For A College is being held on April 10th  from 1-3pm at Maryville  University.  Over 95 colleges and universities will be represented.  No registration.

·         Juniors & Seniors- Carpentry Scholarship Programs is offering the Tim Keleher Award for Outstanding Achievement to students who are interested in the home building industry.  Deadline: 4-10-11


Congratulations to Neil Laumbattus for getting first place at the state proficiency award contest on Saturday.  Neil will be recognized at the state FFA convention in June, receive a cash prize, and will go on to compete at the National contest. This is an accomplishment that not many Juniors can achieve .

The JV baseball team has a home game against Red Bud today.

Selected students will be competing in the Steeleville Art Contest tomorrow.

Prom is this Saturday from 7-11PM.  Doors will open at 6:30 and close at 7:30PM.  Coronation will be at 10:30PM. Activities this week include:

Wednesday--Bright Colors & Sunglasses

Thursday--Old prom or formal dresses for girls and nice dress up clothes with ties for boys

Friday--"Glow Day"

Students who made the Honor Roll 3rd quarter are eligible for two tickets to a Gateway Grizzlies baseball game on Tuesday, May 31st.  Along with the tickets, students receive a medal, certificate, and on field recognition. The Honor Roll is posted on the second floor bulletin board.  Please see Peggy to redeem your certificate to order tickets.
