The New Athens After Prom Committee will be hosting a staff/alumni volleyball fundraiser this Saturday, March 28th.  The proceeds from this event are used to support the after prom activities.  Celebrity coaches are Mr. Trotter and Mr. Schulte. Besides the game, there will also be food, refreshments, a bake sale, and a 50/50 drawing. Entry fees are by donation.  Please come out and support this endeavor.

High School students can sign up in the office to participate in the tug of war or tricycle races to be held between games.

Prom Committee needs to meet during homeroom today.

Mrs. Patton and Mr. Rader need to met with all seniors in the high school gym during homeroom.

After prom ticket sales will occur each Tuesday through April 14th. The Paper Moon in Freeburg is donating $5 from every tuxedo rental to the after prom event. The Paper Moon provides tuxedos by Jim's Formal Wear and flowers by Grimm & Gorly Florist.  Informational flyers are in the office.

The baseball team has a doubleheader against Waterloo on Saturday beginning at 11 AM. The game is at New Athens.

School will be dismissed at 12:12 PM today for school improvement activities  and we will be on an abbreviated schedule.

The FFA Banquet is tonight.  The silent auction starts at 5 PM and the meal is at 6 PM.

Next Friday, April 3, the Student Council would like to announce "Pump up for Prom" Day.  Girls should wear old formal dresses such as their old prom dress, bridesmaid dresses, or thrift store formal dresses.  Boys could wear suits, old suits, bow ties, top hats, etc.  Remember, if your dress is strapless, you must wear something over it to adhere to the dress code

The baseball and softball teams are scheduled to play at Nashville on Monday.

Congratulations to Ben Mohr for placing 2nd at the District Art Contest and to Ellen Kearns and Samantha Winkelman on placing 3rd.

Students are reminded that guest permission slips must be completed for any prom guests who do not currently attend New Athens High School
