·         Seniors-A representative from Eastern Illinois University will be here on Tuesday, September 21st during Homeroom at 8:05.  In order to meet with the representative you need be here early.  Please sign up in the guidance office the day before.  Also, Eastern will have an open house on 10-11-10 and 11-11-10.  You can register for either date on their website.

·         Seniors-Ranken representative will be here on Sept. 22nd at 8:05 a.m. If you are interested sign up in the guidance office by noon on Tuesday.

·         Seniors-There will be an Exploring College Options session held for students interested in attending Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn or Stanford on Wednesday, September 22 at 7:30 in Springfield, Illinois.  Information available in the Guidance Office.

 

The cross country race scheduled for today has been canceled. The team runs at Nashville on Monday and Freeburg next Wednesday.

 

Foreign Language Club will be celebrating Oktoberfest and German Heritage. We will talk about Germany, learn a few German words and share a potluck meal together of typical German foods. Anyone who is interested is invited to come on Wednesday, September 29th from 4:00 to 5:30 in the Library. All participants should bring a typical German food item to share.  Sign up in Mrs. Quast's room.

Any junior who signed up for the PSAT, $13.00 is due to Mrs. Wolter or Peggy by Wednesday, Sept. 22nd.

Marissa high school will be having a chili supper from 4:30 to 7:00 on the Volley for the Cure day September 30. The cost is $5 for adults, $4 Child 5-10, and kids under 5 eat free. There is a sign near Mrs. Patton’s office with more information

Sophomores and Juniors:  Don't forget to turn in all magazine orders and money to your class sponsor by Sept 23.  There will be a reward for the class that sells the most.

 

The volleyball players are starting their mission this year to bring awareness to Breast Cancer. The Volley For the Cure game is Thursday, September 30th and the lady Jackets would like to get as many people involved as possible.  The Friday of that week, the Lady Jackets will be delivering  Pink Carnations - to raise money  for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  The Pink Carnations are to___LET SOMEONE KNOW YOU CARE!!!

The Lady Jacket will be selling these carnations at lunch through September 30th!!!!!!

 

The after-prom committee is looking for students to work the Haunted Trail at the Waterloo Sportsman's Club on October 8th and 9th.  Students will be dressed up as Zombies for the theme of "Night of the Living Dead". Each student receives a meal and drink ticket and the students will need to be available from 6 PM until 11:30 PM. Volunteers are also needed for set up and tear down.  At least two adult supervisors are also needed.  Interested students may sign up in the high school office.
 

The progress reporting period ends today.  Peggy will be running first quarter progress reports on Monday. Parents may pick up progress reports during conferences. Reports will be mailed home to parents who do not attend conferences.

Parent conferences are Thursday evening, September 23rd from 3:30 PM until 7:00 PM and Friday, September 24th from 9:00 AM until noon.
