Students who are not scheduled to go to enrichment due to an absence, but had a medical excuse or were sent home by the nurse, need to confirm during homeroom with Mrs. Brandi that they are eligible for enrichment.  Any student who chooses to go to study instead of enrichment, muxst also verify and approve this with Mrs. Brandi during homeroom.

The H.S. volleyball team along, with our 8th grade volleyball girls, are selling Volley For The Cure T-Shirts.  Proceeds made from these shirts will be donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation.   The deadline to order the shirts is:   Wednesday, September 6, 2011.  Please help our community come together and fight the battle against Cancer. 


The New Athens/Marissa Volleyball tournament finishes tonight. New Athens lost to DuQuoin in three games last night and was eliminated from the tournament.  The winners from all the Pool Play will compete for the top four spots at New Athens tonight.

The following students have paid for reserved parking in the student parking lot. Students should not park in thesese spaces during the school day.

Alicia Dudenbostle  38, Neil laumbattus 1, John Deutsch 2, Alecia Kerperien 24, Renee Kinzinger 32, Ellie Besserman 44, and Micaela Smith 31.


Congratulations to the following newly selected Student Council members:   Aleen Dutkanych, Laura Kreher, Lexi Cahoon, Mallory Warnecke, Ella Swyear, Kellsie Ruhmann, Lucas Marlow, Chance Wacker, Molly Works, Lexi Blank, Hailey Hargrove, Micaela Smith, Zach Bickel, Jillian Siebecker, and Adam Ingles.
The cross country team competes at the Marissa Invitational on Tuesday.
The volleyball team competes at Steeleville on Tuesday.


Book club has chosen its next book.  It is The Princess Bride, an abridged version by William Goldman.  See Lizzie Fisher for questions.

School will be dismissed at 12:11 today for school improvement activities following NAIL period.  Lunch will be served for those students who do not ride a bus.


There is no school on Monday, September 5th due to Labor Day.
