HS Announcements--Janaury 14, 2011

The boy's basketball team plays for third place on Saturday at 6:00 PM in the Chester Tournament.
The girl's basketball team defeated Dupo last night.  The girls have a home game against Waterloo on Tuesday.
Congratulations to Trisha Juenger on being named to the all-tournament team at the Chester Invitational.

Mrs. Wolter needs to meet with the following juniors in room 202 today during homeroom to discuss PSAT results:    Zach Bickel, Lexie Blank, Sarah Cockrell, Kayla Doiron, Lizzie Fisher, Tyler Gabelman, Brandi Garrett, Emily Holland-Steenson, Destiny Labbee, Neil Laumbattus, Erika Meyer, Paige Modglin, Tyler Pulliam, Haley Renth, Zach Riebeling, Erin Shoemaker, Micaela Smith, Courtney Steiger, Katie Stitzel, Shelby Strackeljahn, Danielle Tockstein, & Molly Works


Mr. Rader and Mr. Works will be conducting conditioning "open gym" training Tuesdays and Thursdays for any students who want to get in shape for spring sports, or for any students who simply want to improve their conditioning.


Mrs. Hogg will have two meetings for all students eligible for induction in to the National Honor Society.  Students MUST attend one of the meetings to be considered for induction, and they MUST also complete an application for induction. The meetings will occur during hmeroom and activity period on Tuesday, January 18th in Mrs. Hogg's classroom.  A list of candidates is posted on the bulletin board, and each teacher also has a list.


The After-Prom Committee will be hosting a "Dress Resale Event" on Saturday, February 19th in the cafeteria.  Informational flyers are in the high school office for anyone who would like more information on the event.

The date for the ski trip to Hidden Valley will be Thursday, January 20th. The bus will leave at 8AM and return at approximately 5:45 PM on the day of the trip.

·         Seniors-Hugh G White & Lewis Lynch Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship is being offered to students pursuing an education in aviation, aerospace, engineering or technology careers.   If you are entering any of these fields of education, check with Ms. Wolter for details.  Deadline: 1-15-11.

·         Sophomores-Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership is being offered to outstanding sophomores.  If you would be interested in this summer program please contact Ms. Wolter.


Culture Club will be meeting Wednesday, January 19th from 3:30-5:30 in the library to watch The Butterfly, a French Movie. Please bring a snack to share. If you can find a French recipe, even better! Anyone is welcome

School will be dismissed at 12:11 today for school improvement activities.

There is no school on Monday, January 17th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

First floor will be dismissed early for lunch next week.
