HS Announcements--May 11, 2011

Second floor is dismissed early for lunch this week.
  

High School cheerleading tryouts will be May 17th and 18th, 6-8p.m.   A sign up sheet and informational packets are in the office.

The boy's track team has a meet today at Columbia. The bus willprobably leave after school gets out. 

The New Athens EMS will host a blood drive from 2-7PM at the Community Building today.

Students, the school calendar in the handbook lists May 19th as a Teacher Workshop Day with no school.  This was based on not using any snow days. This Teacher Workshop Day is now Thursday, May 26th.  There will be school on May 19th..

The sophomore class will be meeting Friday in the cafeteria during homeroom to discuss next year's prom theme.

Seniors need to turn in a maximum of six pictures to Mrs. Thoma for the slide show that will be shown at graduation.

Mrs. Thoma will be purchasing pizzas for Student Council to eat during lunch period next Tuesday.  Students will need to purchase their own soda/drink.

Congratulations to those athletes who were honored and recognized at last night's athletic banquet. Special congratulations to Sydney Clark and Blake Ragland on being named sophomore athletes of the  year.

   

The Deadline for $45.00 for the Belleville West Volleyball League and High School Camp is Monday, May 23rd.

 

The deadline to return the deposit for summer school English is Friday, May 20th. Any student who is eligible for free lunch qualifies for a $100 county scholarship for summer school, but you must check with Mr. Works for eligibility.

 

The HS band has their concert tonight at 7:00PM in the Junior high gym..

 

The baseball team has a  home game scheduled against Steeleville on Thursday.

 

The senior class will be taking their field trip this Friday. Permission slips are due by Thursday.  Money for the trip needs to be turned in ASAP. Failure to turn in the required money will keep a student from attending the trip.  The seniors will meet in Mrs. Dinkelman's room during activity period on Thursday to go over last minute details.

 

Selected students will be hosting the junior high trivia day this Friday.

  

The girl's track Sectional meet will be this Friday at Chester.
