The boys basketball team won their first game in the Chester Tournament  as Tyler Meyer led the way with 24 points.  The boys play Perryville at 7:30PM on Wednesday.
 
The girl's varsity basketball team lost to Marissa last night but the JV girls won. The girls have a home game Thursday against Dupo.
 

Student council members will be working on decorations at school this Monday, Martin Luther King Day at 12:30 on the stage.

The following student council members need to meet with Mrs. Thoma Wednesday morning in homeroom: Erika, Brandi, Sarah, Hailey, Paige, Kayla, Alecia, Katie

·        Sophomores-Illinois Leadership Seminar is now being offered.  If you would be interested and would like to be nominated for this program, please check with Ms. Wolter.   Seminar is being held in Chicago June 8-10th.  Deadline: 1-20-12.
·        Seniors-Who have Multiple Sclerosis or have a parent with MS can apply for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program.  Details are available in the guidance office.   Deadline: 1-13-2012.
·        Seniors- The Hugh G. White & Lewis Lynch Tuskegee Airmen Chapter is offering a scholarship for students entering the aviation, aerospace, engineering or technology field of study.  Details available in the guidance office.  Deadline: 1-14-12.

All volleyball players who are working and bringing soups, breads, lunch meat ,and other items to the tournament on January 28th, need to sign up outside of Mrs. Patton's door.  Also, the order forms for T-shirts, hoodies, warm-ups, shoes, knee pads, and other items need to be turned in by, Friday, January 20.  No money needed for now ---Just all orders!!!!

 

Students who plan on participating in spring sports (baseball, softball, or track) must have a current sports physical on file before being allowed to practice.

 

 
Mascoutah High School will be hosting a "Formal Dress Sale" on Saturday, January 28 from 9AM to 1PM.  The sale include both new and used dresses.  Students can also sell their old dresses for a consignment fee of $5.  Informational flyers are on the bulletin board and the door of the girl's restroom.
 
There will be a Beck presentation for sophomores in the high school gym on Wednesday during homeroom.  The meeting may take a little longer than homeroom.
 
The annual alumni basketball game for men and women will be Saturday January 21st.  Doors will open at 5PM with the game at 6PM.  Future cheerleaders, little dribblers, and the alumni pep band will all perform. Contact Lori Main at 406-3438 with questions, or if you would like to participate in the game. There will be "Open Gym Practices" Sunday January 1, 8, and 15 from 6-9PM. this is one of the After Prom Committee's largest fundraisers, so please support their efforts.
 

Mrs. Patton will be having Work-Outs after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the weight room in January.  Please talk to her if you are interested.  Anyone is welcome.

Seniors will be meeting during homeroom on Wednesday.

There will be a prom committee meeting on Thursday during homeroom.

Today's lunch menu includes tacos for A lunch and taco salad for B lunch.
 
Second floor is dismissed early for lunch this  week.
 
The girl's basketball game scheduled for tonight at Waterloo will be played  January 18th.
 
School will be dismissed at 12:11 on Friday and there will be no school next Monday.
