Third floor is dismissed early for lunch this week and next week.

Congratulations to the Varsity boy's cross country runners who made school history by becoming the first boy's team to advance to the Sectional meet with their fifth place finish at Saturday's Regional Race.  The boys will be running at the SIUE Sectional this Saturday.  Congratulations also go out to Molly Works who qualified for the Sectioal race as an individual by placing sixth overall in the girl's race.

Today starts off Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon week is a time to promote a drug and alcohol free school.  Each student is encouraged to wear his or her red ribbon (camoflauged this year) and participate in the dress up days.  At the end of the day two students will win a prize for their efforts.  There will be a Red Ribbon hunt Wednesday morning where students are also encouraged to win prizes.

Remember that tomorrow's dress up day is "Dress like your hero and Class color day."  Seniors are to wear blue, juniors green, sophomores yellow, freshmen purple and teachers, brown.

Statistic of the day:  The younger you are when you start drinking, the greater your chance of becoming addicted to alcohol at some point in your life.  More than 4 in 10 people who begin drinking before age 15 eventually become alcoholics.
