All Volleyball Teams for the Co-Ed Volleyball should have their packets and money turned in NEXT WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7th!!!!

Ag Mechanics classes need to meet me in the cafeteria immediately after second hour today during announcements.

·        Paul Mitchell School representative will be here on March 5th at 8:15.  If you would like to meet with her, please sign-up in the guidance office.

·        Lindenwood College-Belleville Campus representative will be here on March 6th at 8:15.  If you would like to meet with her, please sign-up in the guidance office

The following local scholarship The Jim Heil Career and Technical Scholarship is due to Ms. Wolter this Friday.  This scholarship is for anyone who is attending or has attended Beck

Cheerleaders should turn in uniforms to Mr. W by this Friday.

The end of 3rd quarter is this Thursday.

Seniors:  Pay Mrs. Albert $10.00 for Senior Trip  Due:  April 2, 2012

Most Freshmen will be attending and ISAT awards assembly this Friday in the afternoon.

Mrs. Dinkelman's Fashion and Design class is now offering embroidery!  Any students, staff, or community member can bring in shirts, jackets, bags, etc. to be embroidered by the class. The cost will depend on the design, but will start as low as $3.00.  See Mrs. Dinkelman, Hailey Hargrove, Kayla Doiron, Shelby Strackeljahn, Molly Works, Brandi Garrett, Micaela Smith, or Kara Jones for more details

Selected students will be attending a construction expo in Collinsville this Thursday with Mr. Kinzinger.  The group will leave after 2nd hour.


Student council will be hosting Donkey Basketball on March 3 in the Junior High Gym.  Come see Mrs. Albert, Mr. Kreher, Mr. Bambrough, Miss Spencer, Mrs. Thoma, Mr. Kinzinger, and Mr. W compete against the seniors or other possible teams.  Yes, they will be riding real donkeys and Mr. Works will be the "pooper scooper."  All proceeds go to student council to raise money for a new marquee and we really need your support.  If you buy tickets in advance, they are $6 and at the gate they are $8.  See a student council member to buy tickets in advance.  A team of four riders will cost $10 per ride.  A BBQ dinner starts at 5:30 with the games beginning at 7PM.  There will be desserts and concessions along with the dinner.

Congratulations to all the newly inducted National Honor Society members who were sworn in this past Tuesday evening. It was a great ceremony with some awesome speeches.  Mrs. Hogg looks forward to finishing a successful year.

The National Honor Society is collecting items for the Harrisburg Tornado Relief. See a list of needed items on the third floor bulletin board.  Drop items off on the third floor by the end of the day tomorrow as they will be delivered on Saturday.  Please act fast.


The Current Events Blood Drive will be this Friday in the high school gym.


Mrs. Patton will have a vollyeball meeting today during activity period.


Calling all students and staff!  We want YOU! to join our Chorus Student/Teacher song at our Spring Pops Concert April 11th!  We will practice before school with each part starting in 2 weeks! Please sign up outside Mrs. Patterson's door so she knows who to expect! Go Jackets!



Students already signed up for trip to Costa Rica in 2013 as well as those still interested in enrolling should attend a parent meeting/fundraiser meeting at Marissa High School in the Spanish classroom at 5:00pm tonight.


Freshmen and sophomores  may go in to the gym during lunch period today.



Third  floor is dismissed early for lunch this week.

·        Seniors- Foundation Southern Illinois College is offering more than 200 scholarships.  If you are planning to attend SWIC, this is a great opportunity to apply for these scholarships.  Information available in the guidance office.  Deadline: 3-1-12.
·        Seniors-Township Officials of Illinois are offering scholarships to students showing leadership and civic responsibility.  Deadline: 3-1-12.
·        Washington University of Arts & Science is offering the High School Summer Experience and offering a variety of programs for high school students to spend their summer getting an early taste of college life.  Information is available in the guidance office.
·        Washington University is also offering other credit and non-credit classes through their Summer Experiences Program for high school students after your sophomore or junior year.  Information available in the guidance office.
·        Seniors-US Bank Scholarship is offering scholarships to finance their college education.  All information is available on-line along with the application.  You can apply for this scholarship thru March 2012.
·        Seniors-Anyone planning to attend SIUE School of Engineering- they are offering a scholarship.  Please see Ms. Wolter if you would be interested in this. Deadline:  Packets are due in March.
·        Seniors-Amvets Scholarship Program is offering various scholarships to students, some for students of veterans.  Information on the various scholarships is available in the guidance office. Deadline: 3-1-12.
·        Seniors-The Illinois Odd Fellows-Rebekah Scholarship Program is offering scholarships to students with a financial need.  Information is available in the guidance office and on-line.  Deadline: 3-1-12.
·        Seniors-The National Defense Transportation Association Scott/St. Louis Chapter is offering scholarships to students entering the Business, Transportation Logistics, and Physical Distribution field of study.  Details are available in the guidance office.  Deadline: 3-1-12.
