The after prom committee will be selling tickets each Tuesday prior to prom.

All non-New Athens High School students attending prom must be approved by having a guest permission form completed and approved by Mr. Works.

Congratulations to Cameron Reuss on breaking his school record in the 400 meter run at last night's track meet and also to Molly Works on breaking her sister Sarah's school record in the 1600 meter run. Ethan Tadlock also set a personal record in the 400m and Kyla Miller - 2nd shot / 3rd discus breaking her own school record in the shot put.

Yesterday was the Platinum Chef Competition in Red Bud.  Micheal Bindel, Roger Neff, Andrew Frech, and Matthew Roddy were the chefs and Rachel Ozier and Liz Duquette were dishwashers.  All of the participants did great.  Congratulations to Matthew Roddy for winning one of the six "Outstanding Individual" award.

Prom tickets are currently being sold each day at lunch period.  Prices are $10 for a couple and $5 for an individual.  Prices may go up next week, so purchase tickets early.  Ticket sales will end Thursday, April 16.

All high school students will be participating in testing on this morning.  Freshmen will take the Explore test, sophomores the Plan test,  juniors will take a practice ACT test, and seniors will take either the ASVAB or Asset test.  English teachers will inform students of times and locations.

The baseball team lost to Granite City yesterday.

The softball team has a home game against Waterloo today.

The track team is scheduled to compete at Columbia today.

Students are reminded that this Friday is "Pump Up For Prom" day.  Students are encouraged to wear old formal or dress wear that is school appropriate.

Selected students will be attending a welding competition in Springfield on Friday.

On Tuesday, April 7 Lifetouch will be here to take spring activity pictures.  Be sure to bring uniforms on that day.
