Tomorrow is the last day to sign up outside Mrs. patterson's door for the Disney Performing Arts Trip.   We have filled most of our seats and only have a few remaining spots.  Failure to put your name on this list, may result in your name being added to a waiting list.   This is very important.  An announcement outlining the trip was posted to TeacherEase this past summer and is still available for you and your parents to go over.  If you have further questions ask Mr. Treece or Mrs. Patterson.

School and fall sports pictures will be taken today in the junior high gym.  Announcements will notify students when to report for pictures.  Once pictures are finished, students should immediately report back to their assigned class.

Seniors must bring in $5 on picture day to cover the cost of the composite picture.

The H.S. volleyball team along, with our 8th grade volleyball girls, are selling Volley For The Cure T-Shirts.  Proceeds made from these shirts will be donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation.   The deadline to order the shirts is:   Wednesday, September 6, 2011.  Please help our community come together and fight the battle against Cancer. 


The New Athens/Marissa Volleyball tournament continues today.  New Athens will be playing in the last game of the day againt DuQuoin.  The team lost their matches to Valmeyer and Trico yesterday.  Games begin at 4:30 PM.  The tournament runs through Friday and will be held in the junior high gym.

The following students have paid for reserved parking in the student parking lot. Students should not park in thesese spaces during the school day.

Alicia Dudenbostle  38, Neil laumbattus 1, John Deutsch 2, Alecia Kerperien 24, Renee Kinzinger 32, Ellie Besserman 44, and Micaela Smith 31.


Congratulations to the following newly selected Student Council members:   Aleen Dutkanych, Laura Kreher, Lexi Cahoon, Mallory Warnecke, Ella Swyear, Kellsie Ruhmann, Lucas Marlow, Chance Wacker, Molly Works, Lexi Blank, Hailey Hargrove, Micaela Smith, Zach Bickel, Jullian Siebecker, and Adam Ingles.


The cross country relay team of Zach Bickel, Staton O'Dell, and Zach Bogacki finished 8th overall to earn individual medals at yesterday's Columbia relays. Congratulations to these three boys.

·        9th, 10th, & 11th graders-St. Clair County is looking for a group of student leaders to join the St. Clair county Youth Board.  The board meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:00-8:00 pm at the St. Clair County Health Department in Belleville.  If you would be interested in this, please contact Ms. Wolter for further details


Book club has chosen its next book.  It is The Princess Bride, an abridged version by William Goldman.  See Lizzie Fisher for questions.

School will be dismissed at 12:11 on Friday for school improvement activities following NAIL period.  Lunch will be served for those students who do not ride a bus.


There is no school on Monday, September 5th due to Labor Day.
