Today is the last day to purchase Prom tickets.
 
Prom will be from 7-11PM with doors opening at 6:30 PM. Doors will close at 8:00PM.  Cornation will begin at 10:30PM
 
Congratulations to the baseball and softball teams on their wins over Dupo yesterday.
 
Selected students will be competing in the Chalk Contest at Steeleville today.
 
Selected students will be participating in the Livestock Judging Competition in Carbondale.
 
Students will be setting up for prom today.
 

Students taking the PSAE test will meet with Mrs. Hogg during homeroomon Monday.

The baseball and softball teams play at Red Bud on Monday.

There will be one last fire drill on Monday at approximately 1:30 PM.

The New Athens Fire Ladies Auxiliary is still looking for candidates to run for the New Athens Homecoming Queen contest with the winner to be crowned at the New Athens Homecoming the third weekend in July.  Please consider running and earn yourself some money.  Winners receive $500.00 for 1st, $350.00 for 2nd, $150.00 for 3rd, $50.00 for 4th and 10% of your sales after the first 500 tickets.    The Homecoming depends on the queen sales to help pay for the wonderful bands that supply the entertainment at the homecoming.  IF YOU HAVEN'T THOUGHT ABOUT RUNNING--PLEASE RECONSIDER.  Applications are available in the High School Office.

 

All students may go in the gym during lunch period.

 

Today's lunch menu includes corn dog for A lunch and sub sandwich for B lunch.
 

·        Senior boys or girls- Sons of the American Revolution are offering a scholarship to students who display outstanding citizenship.  This is a local scholarship.  If you would be interested in this, please check in the guidance office for details.  Deadline: 4-24-12.

·        Seniors-New Athens Teachers Association is offering a scholarship to a student pursuing a career in education.  If you are interested in this scholarship, please see Ms. Wolter.  Deadline: 4-30-12
