 The cross country teams had a double win last night as both the boys and girls took first place.  The girls defeated Okawville, Marissa, Gibault, Althoff, and Valmeyer.  The boys narrowly defeated Althoff by one point in winning their race.  Olivia Hoffman took 2nd overall while Molly Works rans 3rd despite being sick.  Bailey Dudeck, Courtnie Niederbrach, and Denae White all had solid races.  The boys were again led by Zach Bogacki and Zach Bickel in 3rd and 4th. while Derrick Hoffman ran one of his best races to place 10th overall.  Mike Niederbrach had a good race as he finished 16th. The teams participate in the Pinckneyville Invitational on Thursday.

The NA After Prom Committee will be working the Haunted Trail Fri & Sat Oct 7th & 8th in Waterloo. Lori Main needs some extra workers so that volunteers don’t have to work both nights.  The group will be leaving New Athens at approximately 4:30 pm Fri & Sat so that they can get makeup and supper before being set to go in the woods at 7pm (through 11pm) If anyone needs a ride or has questions please call Lori at 618/406-3438

The volleyball team has matches tonight against Trico.  The team has their final home match against Valmeyer on Wednesday.  Wednesday is also senior recognition night. Please come out and support all the girls, but especially those seniors that we will be recognizing on Wednesday.

The golf team is participating in the Regional meet all day today.
The soil judging team will be competing all day at Valmeyer on Wednesday.

Second floor has early lunch dismissal this week.

The senior class is planning a Halloween masquerade dance for Friday evening, Oct 28 from 7:30 - 10 pm.  The cost will be $8 per person or $5 per person if you are in costume.  Costumes must be school appropriate.  If you want to bring a guest, please see Mr. Works for a permission form.

Sophomore ring orders will be taken todaybetween 3:00 and 5:00 PM in the main foyer. Students may be released from activity period today to order their rings.
There is no school on Friday due to the County Institute and no school on Monday due to Columbus Day.
Today's lunch menu includes tacos for A lunch and and chicken sandwich for B lunch.
