New Athens District #60 will host its sixth annual Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremonies to honor and recognize graduates for our outstanding accomplishments, employees of District #60 who have made significant contributions to the school system, or friends of the District who have shown outstanding support.  The newly selected inductees include:

John Main.............................Athletics
Scott Thies............................Athletics
Dr. Theodore Trappe.............Community and school service
Warren Trotter.....................Teacher/Coach

The event is open to the public, but there is a $10 fee to cover the cost of the meal for those wishing to eat.  Reservations for the meal can be made by calling Peggy (475-2173) at the high school office.  The catered meal will probably include roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, salad, rolls, dessert, and drinks.

LOCATION: High School Cafeteria (Old Gym)
5:00 PM—Doors open, social time
5:30 PM—Opening remarks and meal
6:15 PM—Approximate time for awards presentation

The After Prom committee is looking for volunteers to work the Waterloo Haunted Trail the weekend of October 5-6th.  A free meal and soda are provided.  Volunteers would need to be at the Sportsman’s Club each night by 5-5:30 to have make up applied and to be in place by 7PM until close at 11PM. Volunteers can by any age, including younger brothers and sisters.  Lori Main-Sinn is your contact for this project and she can take a group on Saturday, September 29th for a walk through.  Contact Lori at 406-3438 for more information.

Mr. Kinzinger and Mrs. Hogg will need to meet this Friday during activity period with all boat race volunteers to hand out arm bands, etc. The meeting will be in the cafeteria.

Today is Patriot Day. HS students will participate in an assembly first hour with the entire school district.  Students should report to the JH gym after homeroom. HS students should sit in the bleachers towards the hallway near the high school gym.

There will be an FCA Meeting tomorrow , at 5:30,in the J.H. Gym

Reminder: Drag Boat Race Volunteers need to turn in their permission slips no later than tomorrow. If you haven't already signed up to work, please do so. There will be an informational meeting next week.

Freshmen and sophomores may go in the gym during lunch period today.

Starting Wednesday, September 12th the Volleyball Teams will be selling Pink Carnations during lunch. Sells will start this Wednesday and run through next Friday. The carnations will be $2.00 and will be delivered Friday, September 28th during lunch.

The first progress reporting deadline is this Wednesday. Peggy will run progress reports on Thursday morning.

The volleyball team plays at Lebanon today, the cross country team runs at Sparta (2:50 dismissal)  and the golf team competes against Valmeyer.

All students that submitted an application for FCA officers need to meet today for a brief meeting during activity period in Mrs. Dehler's room #101


A representative from Murray State will be here at 8:15 on Thuursday.  Please sign up in the office to mee with the rep.

First floor will be dismissed early for lunch this week.
