The cross country teams ran great at thr Nashville Invitational yesterday with nearly all runners runnig personal records. The girl's team finished 3rd out of 12 teams missing 2nd place by just three points.  The girls were led by medal winners Olivia Hoffman 9th, Molly Works 11th, and Bailey Dudeck 18th.  Brandi Garrett ran a strong race finishing 30th as the #4 runner for the team.  The boys were nearly as impressive finishing 4th out of 15 teams.  the team was led by medal winers Zach Bogacki 12, and Zach Bickel 14th.  Staton O'Dell was 33rd with Derrick Hoffman right behind in 34th.  Jonathan Robinson earned the #5 spot for the boys. Freshman Dylan Toedte is to be congratulated for running a strong race.

Student Council will be meeting during homeroom this morning.

Mrs. Wolter needs to meet with all juniors today during activity period in the cafeteria.

The volleyball team has a home match against Dupo today.

Students are reminded that beginning this week, any complete period absence (for any reason) will result in the student not being allowed to go to enrichment on Fridays.

The FCA will  hosting a Soup/Chili Supper for the Volley the Cure--Starting at 4:30 on Thursday, September 29th.------The money will be split between  the FCA and SUSAN G KOMEN--Sign up sheet for workers and soups/chili/desserts will be posted on Mrs. Patton's door.  PLEASE SIGN UP!!!

The New Athens After Prom is assigned to work the haunted woods the first weekend as a fundraiser October 7-8 (see posted flyers). Any students interested in participating as well as parents (we need 10-12) can contact Lori Main  at 618/406-3438 (last year participants were zombies). Meal and drink tickets are provided to workers. Anyone interested in setting up the haunted trail woods, can volunteer to help  every Saturday in September.


Parents of all classes are invited to the  first After Prom Meeting Wed Sept 21 7:30 pm Bull Pen.


Parent conferences will be Thursday and Friday, September 29th and 30th.


The Hall of Fame Banquet will be Friday, September 30th in the cafeteria.  New inductees include:  Jon Adamson, David "Red" Lehr, and Kenny Pour.  Doors open at 5PM with a meal at 5:30.  The event is open to the public, but those wishing to eat supper need to make reservations with Peggy (475-2173) in the high school office.
