Tickets for the FFA Hog Raffle can be purchased from FFA members and are $1.00/ticket or $5.00/6 tickets. There will be two winners and each will recieve a half of processed hog. Raffle ends the second week in October.
The Varsity and JV volleyball squads both defeated Steeleville last night in two games each.
The boy's cross country team lost a close decision to Chester last night, but they did defeat Steeleville and Okawville.  Top runners were Cameron Reuss, Zach Bogacki, Zach Bickel, Ben Mohr, Bobby Poe, Derrick Hoffman, and Adam Ingles.  Molly Works led the girl's team with a first place finish.  Following her were Kayla Doiron, Zoey Hill, Aimee Stephens, and Morgan Kelley.  The teams compete in the Chester Invitational on Thursday.
A Josten's representative will be here on Thursday from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM to size rings and collect money for spohomore ring orders.

Money and orders for senior pictures should be turned in to Mrs. Albert by Thursday, Oct 1

The FFA will attend an activity at SIUC to

On October 15th The New Athens Lady Jackets along with the Marissa\Coulterville Meteors, will be participating in Volley For The Cure. This is done to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. We will be selling shirts for $10, and some of the money will go to the foundation. The order forms are available in the office. We would also like to be recognize the survivors at half time with a pink carnation. Please contact Ms. Patton with names of survivors attending. We are raising money for this cause and would like to PINK OUT THE SCHOOL.  We would like to encourage everyone to wear pink on this day, and come and watch the volleyball games as all money made will be for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Anyone interested in making a donation can contact the Athletic Department.

FCA members interested in going to the kick-off banquet must give money to Mrs. Wolter today or tomorrow. 

There will be a student council meeting today in Miss Howes's room.

There is an early dismissal scheduled for Friday.  We will be on an abbreviated schedule and will dismiss at 12:12.
  Seniors- Southeast Missouri State University will be here today at 3:00 p.m.   If you are interested in meeting with the representative sign up in guidance office by noon on September 30th.

 Seniors-Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship is being offered to seniors who participate in one of more sports and a leader in school or community.  You can apply on line. For information check in guidance office.  Deadline; 10-1-09.
