The girl's basketball team lost to Marissa last night.  They play at Waterloo tonight and have a home game on Thursday against Dupo.
The boy's basketball team plays tomorrow at 6:00 PM in the Chester Tournament.
Approximately 50 PE students will be skiing at Hidden Valley today.  The students will be gone all day and should meet in the cafeteria.  
The freshmen boy's basketball team is scheduled to play at Dupo tonight.
There will be an FFA meeting during homeroom on Thursday.
School will be dismissed at 12:12 on Friday for a school improvement day and we will be on an abbreviated schedule.
The FFA has a parliamentary procedure contest after school at Kaskaskia College today.
There is no school on Monday, January 18th due to Martin Luther King Day.

The poster decorating will be on Monday at 1:00 on ML King Day in the cafeteria.


Homecoming tickets will be on sale from Wednesday to next Tuesday only.

The Homecoming Dance is from 7-10PM.   Doors will open at 6:30 and close at 7:30.  Coronation is at 9:30.

Student Council will be meeting Thursday morning during homeroom.


There will be a Senior Class Meeting during Activity Period on Thursday in the Cafeteria to discuss the Senior Class trip.


The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, January 23rd.  Students must complete a guest permission form and return it to Mr. Works by January 19th if they are inviting a guest who does not attend New Athens High School.

The girl’s basketball team lost to Sesser-Vallier last Wednesday, but beat Valmeyer on Saturday. They lost a close game to Chester for the consolation championship of the Chester tournament.The girl’s basketball team is hosting a pie-in-the-face fundraiser. There will be flyers put up around school explaining the fundraiser:   The top male and top female vote getters will receive a pie in the face at the assembly. There will also be raffle chances   for someone to do the honors that day, $1 per chance or 6 for $5. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation
