On October 15th The New Athens Lady Jackets along with the Marissa\Coulterville Meteors, will be participating in Volley For The Cure. This is done to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. We will be selling shirts for $10, and some of the money will go to the foundation. The order forms are available in the office. We would also like to be recognize the survivors at half time with a pink carnation. Please contact Ms. Patton with names of survivors attending. We are raising money for this cause and would like to PINK OUT THE SCHOOL.  We would like to encourage everyone to wear pink on this day, and come and watch the volleyball games as all money made will be for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Anyone interested in making a donation can contact the Athletic Department.

The volleyball team defeated Trico last night in three games.  The girls have a home match tonight against Valmeyer and an away match against Columbia on Thursday.

The cross country team is scheduled to run in the Pinckneyville Invitational on Thursday.

Selected FFA members are scheduled to participate in a soils judging competiton (all day) today.

Volley for the Cure T-Shirts are due by Friday, October 9th.  Please have all order forms and money to Mrs. Patton by Friday!


The after-prom committee is hosting two fundraisers:

1)  On Monday, October 19th, part of the proceeds taken in at the Freeburg Dairy Queen between

4-9 PM will be donated to the after-prom.

2)  Tickets for a St. Louis Blues hockey game against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday, November 14th are being sold for $20 each.  The tickets will be in the "Mezzanine End Low".  $5 of each ticket sold will be returned to the after-prom.  A fundraiser order form is in the office.  Checks should be made payable to:  New Athens School District #60.  The deadline to order is Friday, October 23rd.


There is no school Friday due to the St. Clair County Teacher's Institute and also on Monday due to Columbus Day.


Mrs. Wolter would like to meet with the following students today during activity period in Room 202: Michael Bindel, Liz Blanford, Seth Causy, Cody Gaubatz, John Gregory, Jaclyn Hornug, Amber Harpole, Steve Kreher, Jacob Labbee, Ben Mohr, Airana Muffo, Matt Roddy, and Chris Weber

The following students will be meeting with her during homeroom on Thursday in Room 202: Michael Helfer, Brandon Hoffman, Cody Juilius, Vince Kiefer, Cody Lapointe, Derek Pruett, Cameron Reuss, Philp Riebling, Corey Weber, and Adam Wilson

There will be a Junior class meeting in Ms. Nowakowski's room this morning during homeroom.

There will be a baseball meeting during activity period on Thursday in room 202 for all High School boys interested in playing this spring.
