The cross country boys finished 2nd out of five teams at the Marissa cross country meet yesterday. Cameron Reuss and Zach Bickel earned individual awards for finishing 5th and 9th.  The girl's team tied Gibbault for 4th with Molly Works and Kayla Doiron earning individual awards for 1st and 7th places. Morgan Kelley deserves recognition for an excellent individual effort.

Student council is asking the student body to wear Red/White/and Blue in honor of September 11 on Friday!

All Honor Society members should contact Ms Boyles about the boat races.  Permission slips to work the boat races this Saturday and Sunday are available through Ms. Boyles and Miss Hand.  Permission slips must be signed in order to work.  If you are volunteering on Saturday, please give permission slips to Ms. Boyles; if you are working on Sunday, give them to Miss Hand.

Breadeaux's Pizza in Freeburg will donate 10% of all sales from 5PM to close to the New Athens After-Prom Committee on Tuesday, September 15th.  A coupon for the 10% contribution is available in the high school office.  Students and families are encouraged to use the coupon to make purchases that evening in support of the after-prom activities.

Representatives from the Army will be here at lunch today.

Mrs. Wolter will be at SIUC today.

The FFA will attend a Reporter's Workshop after school on Wednesday.

This Friday will be the first calculation for No Pass No Play.  Any student having two "F's" as of Friday, will be ineligible for extra-currricular activities beginning the following Monday through Friday.  Grades are then re-checked each Friday to determine eligibility for the next week.

Mrs. Berowski will be here at lunch on Friday to discuss the Rotary Youth Exchange program.

The Hall of Fame Banquet will be Friday evening, September 18th. Mr. Works is looking for a few student volunteers to help with serving of food, drinks, clean up, etc. Volunteer service is one of the categories often seen on college scholarship applications, as well as on other competitive awards.
