Second floor should be dismissed early for lunch this week and next.
Selected FFA members will be leaving at 3:00 PM today to attend the Farmyard Follies at DuQuoin.
Congratulations to all participants at Saturday's cross country meet.  Molly Works was an indiviudal award winner finishing 22nd out of 126 girls in the varsity race.  Kayla Doiron finished 82nd while Aimee Stephens, Zoey Hill, Abby Wolf, Kellsie Ruhmann, and Morgan Kelley all completed thier first 3.1 mile race. Zach Bickel led the boy's team finishng 52nd out of 130 in the varsity race.  Ben Mohr ran a great race as our #2 runner.  Zach Bogacki was a solid #3 on the team, and freshman Derrick Hoffman ran in the #4 spot only 42 seconds behind Zach.  Bobby Poe and Chance Wacker rounded out the top six.  Freshmen Jeremy Hepp, Dylan Harper, Marc Dontigney, and Austin Wilcher all ran in the Open Race. There were a total of 87 boys and girls in the Open Race making a total of 343 combined runners in the three races. The boy's team finished 13th out of 17 teams.
The cross country team will host their annual invitational tomorrowat the Okaw Park.  Students are encouraged to come out and support the runners.  The girl's race is at 4:00PM and the boy's race will follow.  Volunteers are also needed to help at the meet. Participating schools will include New Athens, Marissa, Steeleville, Gibault, Okawville, Lebanon, and Althoff.
Selected FFA members will be on a soil judging field trip to Decatur on Tuesday.
Volleyball players will have a meeting during activity period on Wednesday.  The meeting will be in the high school gym..

Picture day is scheduled for this Thursday.  Morning Beck students and Seniors will get their pictures taken first.  Each senior must have $10 on that day for the composite picture.  There will also be sports pictures taken for golf, cross country and volleyball so please bring your uniforms. Coaches and Assistant coaches should make arrangements to be in the team picture.

If you are interested in joining the yearbook staff (VESPA), applications are available from Mrs. Albert in room 203.  Pick up applications ASAP as the deadline to turn them in will be Friday, Sept 4.

All student council applications must be turned in to Miss Howes today.
