Both the boy's and girl's CC teams advanced out of the New Athens Regional and will run next Saturday at the Benton Sectional.  The girls finished a strong 3rd behind Freeburg and Mater Dei.  Slightly over one minute separated the top five girls:  Alayna Toedte-12th, Danika White-17th, Britney Miller-19th, Jenna Alfedt-22nd, and Madi stewart-27th.  Stevi Price ran perhaps her best race of the season to finish 36th, and Makayla Zimmermann ran her fastest time of the year to finish in 65th.

The boys grabbed the 7th and final qualifying spot as all of them had a great race.  Deric Maurer-18th, tied the junior course record. Chandler Hoffman-32nd, broke the sophomore course record.  Owen Whitworth-46th, Devin Caswell-60th, Max Fowler-65th, and Jacob Poirot-81st all ran personal records for the course, but it was Joel Mattingly's 300 meter sprint to the finish (57th) that secured the one point win over the 8th place Breese Central team.

The volleyball team will start Regional play tomorrow night at home against the winner of tonight's game.

Anyone interested in going on the Rome and Greece trip in two years need to attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, October 25 at 7:00 in the library.  Note that the meeting date has been changed from the 18th to the 25th.  If you cannot attend the meeting but are still interested in the trip see Mrs.Thoma immediately.
