Congratulations to the volleyball team on their tournament championship at the Sparta Tournament on Saturday. Jordan Drake and Danika White were named to the All-Tournament team.

 FCA will be hosting the All-You-Can-Eat Chili Soup Supper during Volley For the Cure on Friday, Oct. 7.  Please sign up to bring a soup outside of Coach Patton's room this week.

The girl's CC team finished a close 2nd to Nashville at the Chester Invitational last Thursday.  Alayna Toedte ran a great race to finish as the #1 runner out of 87 girls.  Five other girls earned individual medals:  Jenna Alfeldt/13th, Danika White/17th, Emma File/21st, Stevi Price/30th, and Cassie Crabtree/33rd. Three boys earned individual awards at Chester: Deric Maurer/22nd, Joel Mattingly39th, and Noel Ivester/41st.

The girls finished 2nd and the boys finished 4th at the SW Piasa Invitational on Saturday.  Individual medal winners were:  Alayna Toedte, Jenna Alfeldt, Emma File, Stevi Price, Cassie Crabtree, Taylor Marhanka, Laniey Deterding, Noel Ivester, Chandler Hoffman, Owen Whiteorth, and Sean Osborn.

  The CC team will need to be dismissed at 2:00 on Thursday for their meet at Pinckneyville.  
Any student interested in entering this year's Voice of Democracy Speech Contest should see Mrs. Hogg for details.  This year's theme is "My Responsibility to America."  Speech recordings will take place in early October.

Juniors or Seniors interested in SIUEs Friends of Lovejoy Library High School Writers' Contest should contact Mrs. Hogg.  First Prize in each category of Fiction, Non- Fiction, and Poetry is $500.
The deadline for the contest is February 8, 2017.

Reminder:  no one with a negative balance on their lunch account can buy (charge) any a la carte items or extra food. To purchase any extra you MUST have enough money in their account or cash to cover any extras.
