Students should turn in order forms for track apparel with their money to Peggy.  Orders will be taken during the next two weeks.

Mr. Works will hold optional track workouts next Monday and Wednesday, February 9 and 11 and also the following week on Tuesday and Thursday, February 17 and 19.  Official track practice begins Monday, February 23rd. Participants need to have a sports physical in order to practice.

Tonight is the night! The Lady Jackets play in the Regional Championship at home starting at 7:00! The three point shootout begins at 5:30, get here early to get your seat and cheer on the Lady Jackets.

New Athens abroad is hosting a crock pot dinner this Friday from 5:00-8:00 in the HS cafeteria. 

Senior Night for Boys Basketball and Cheerleading is tomorrow night. The JV game against Marissa will start at 6:15, and the seniors will be honored between the JV and Varsity games. Come out to say farewell to our eight boys basketball players and two cheerleaders on their last regular season home game. 

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
When: Saturday, March 7th

Where: New Athens High School/ New Athens Junior High Gym

Time:  Adult League starts at 9:00 a.m.
           High School League starts around 11:30 a.m.

Cost:  $10.00 a person

First Place teams will be awarded medals in each division.

*  Seniors-Metro Area Professional Organization is offering scholarships.  Requirement is a 2.5 or better G.P.A.  Applications require an essay.  For further information, see Mr. Lehman.  Deadline: 2-13-15.

·         Seniors-Planning to pursue a major and career related to agriculture- If so, The Farm Credit Scholarship is being offered.  There is an additional scholarship with U of I if you attend college there and are a recipient of the Farm Credit Scholarship.  Information is available in the High School office.  Deadline: 2-27-15.

·         Seniors-Planning to attend SWIC-The Southwestern Illinois College Foundation is offering over 240 scholarships.  You can apply for these on-line.  This is a great opportunity if you are attending SWIC.  Information is available in the High School Office.  Deadline: 3-1-15.

·         Seniors-The Jim Heil Career and Tech Scholarship Program will be awarding $6,000. In scholarships to seniors enrolled in, or previously enrolled in, a career and technical education class or program.  Two students will be nominated from our school.  If you are eligible and would like to be nominated for this, please see Mr. Lehman.  Deadline: 3-6-15.

·          Seniors-The Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation  Scholarship applications are now available for Physical or Occupational Therapy Majors, and Physical or Occupational Therapy Assistants.  This is a renewable scholarship.  Information on this scholarship is available in the the High School office.  This is a local scholarship.  Deadline: 3-13-15.

·         Juniors & Seniors-SEMO representative will be here on 4-1-15 at 3:05 in room 102.  Please sign up in the High School Office if you would like to meet with SEMO.

Seniors-The Alpha Delta Kappa Illinois Scholarship is being offered to a senior entering college for the purpose of becoming a teacher.  Student must have a 3.0 or better GPA.  Additional information on this scholarship is available in the high school office.  Deadline: 3-30-15
